Acupuncture in Vernon

Christy offers acupuncture, cupping, cosmetic acupuncture, Tui Na massage, and holistic support for fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and general wellness at our Vernon clinic.

Traditional Chinese Acupuncture

Traditional Chinese Acupuncture restores balance to the body’s energy system (Qi) by stimulating specific points along meridian pathways. Christy uses fine, sterile needles to address a wide variety of issues, including:

  • Pain (back, hip, shoulder, nerve pain, arthritis, injuries)
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Insomnia and sleep issues
  • Digestive concerns
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Fatigue
  • PMS and menstrual irregularities
  • Menopause and hormonal imbalances
  • Pregnancy and postpartum recovery

Many first-time clients are surprised by how gentle and relaxing acupuncture treatments feel. For children, infants, or clients sensitive to needles, Christy also offers non-invasive stimulation techniques.

Pregnancy & Fertility Care

Acupuncture is a safe, supportive treatment during all stages of pregnancy and fertility care.

In preconception, acupuncture may support fertility by:

  • Reducing stress
  • Regulating hormones
  • Improving blood flow to reproductive organs
  • Enhancing the effects of IUI and IVF

During pregnancy, acupuncture is used for:

  • Morning sickness
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle and joint pain
  • Breech positioning
  • Birth preparation

In the postpartum period, Christy offers care for recovery, emotional balance, and milk production support.

Cosmetic Acupuncture (Skin & Beauty)

Often referred to as “natural Botox”, cosmetic acupuncture uses gentle needling techniques to stimulate collagen and elastin production, helping improve the tone, texture, and vitality of aging skin. It can help reduce:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Sagging or dull skin
  • Lifestyle- and stress-related skin issues

This is a modern approach rooted in centuries-old TCM techniques.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping is one of the oldest manual therapies in the world, now popular among athletes and those recovering from muscle strain or tension. Glass cups are warmed and placed on the skin to create suction, drawing blood flow to the area to promote healing and release tension.

Used for:

  • Muscle and tendon pain
  • Deep tissue release
  • Inflammation
  • Respiratory conditions (e.g., chest congestion)
  • Relaxation and stress relief

Cupping can be a standalone treatment or combined with acupuncture.

Tui Na Massage

Tui Na (pronounced twee-nah) means “push and grasp” and is a therapeutic massage technique used in TCM. It’s particularly effective for addressing blockages in the meridian system and helping the body restore its natural rhythm.

Used for:

  • Muscle tension
  • Circulatory support
  • Stress relief
  • Promoting the flow of Qi

Tui Na can be integrated with acupuncture and cupping for a comprehensive treatment session.
